Christmas Goodies

This time of year has so many goodies to eat, sweet and savory alike. I started a tradition 10 years ago of making and sharing painted cookies for friends and family. They have become a staple in my holiday joy and the best part now is my kids get excited to help bake and decorate them for their friends family and teachers!

Last year I didn’t just make painted cookies, I bought little treat boxes from amazon and made a sampling of goodies to share. Those who know me know that the hours spent in the kitchen baking and cooking are my absolute favorite! So getting to bake a couple of recipes is a great thing.

After the year of learning to cherish the family and traditions we bake I decided to add a few different items that I loved as a kid. This years holiday goodies sampling will include two of our family’s favorites and a couple of new offerings.

Painted Cookies, Chocolate Chip Cake and Peanut Butter Blossoms are the standing favorites. I will be adding my moms family famous fudge, my grandmothers Sticks and Stones, and a Pinterest find of Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies. We always had Red Velvet cake growing up so I am excited to try these crinkle cookies this year.

Last year I made Grinch Crinkle Cookies, Peppermint Chocolate Chip Cookies, and English Toffee Bars.

What are your favorite Christmas or Holiday Goodies? I love trying other’s traditions and sharing ours with everyone.

Hi! My name is Ashley and I am a wife of almost 10 years and a mom of Irish twins Daisy (3) and Brady (2). I grew up in a small town and after college moved back to marry my Husband, Corey. I am not perfect at anything I do and will be the first to tell you I struggle with balancing life on the daily. Cooking and Baking are were I feel like I shine, but I enjoy learning and trying all the things.
