Feeling Overwhelmed

This season can always be challenging. We get so excited to listen to the Christmas music, bake and eat all the goodies, go to the gatherings and parties, Shop for and open gifts, go see all the Christmas lights, I could go on for a month! Literally.

But lets be real by last week I was over it! This week I have reached the Bah Humbug status and want to through my tree back in the shed. You may think I am kidding, but I’m there!

We host Brunch on Christmas Day and do gift exchanges with the two families on other days. I love this, but now is the time for me to hustle; get the menu together, grocery shop early in the week, mow the yard, clean the house, prep the food! All the things.

On top of it all, my Husband has hit the peak of peak season and will be no help, because he will be working and sleeping. Why do we do this to ourselves?!?!

That is a great question, but as I write this complaining realization of the true Holiday season I remember that I really do love it.

What is your favorite thing to do during the season? Tell me in the comments.

We like to load up in the golf cart and drive around town looking at lights. Brady loves to count the blow ups this year! I love baking cookies and feeding people! LOL go figure.

A new tradition we started last year was ordering Chinese food after Christmas Eve service and then building a Gingerbread house. Last year was a disaster, I swore I would never build one again, but it was something we did as a family and laughed and smiled and spent time together.

Short story long, if you are feeling overwhelmed and ready to throw your tree back in the shed and call it a year, I am with you. Although I would like to encourage you to think of something that brings a smile to your face and go do it! Even if its something you’ve never done in years past, there is always time to create a new tradition!

Hi! My name is Ashley and I am a wife of almost 10 years and a mom of Irish twins Daisy (3) and Brady (2). I grew up in a small town and after college moved back to marry my Husband, Corey. I am not perfect at anything I do and will be the first to tell you I struggle with balancing life on the daily. Cooking and Baking are were I feel like I shine, but I enjoy learning and trying all the things.
