That is the question
What does your morning look like?
I have a friend who wakes up at 430 am every morning! She reads a book, meditates, and does a 30-40 minute work out before her husband or kids get up. She posts a sweaty selfie everyday and sometimes encouragement for the book she is reading. Even though deep down I am jealous, I am so proud of her that she kills it everyday, even on the weekends.
Yes there is jealousy because she kills it and I am not but, there is also motivation to get my act together and kill it as well.
So, here is what I am learning, being able to wake up as early as she does and get enough sleep to be able to function, you have to go to bed earlier! This is the hardest part for me!
So, I should really go to bed when my kids do? My friend is in bed by 9pm. Some nights I don’t go to bed till midnight! 4 hours of sleep is not enough to function daily with two kids. I have to push myself to go to bed before 10 pm. This is my goal this next week.
I have been trying to wake up at least a half hour before the kids for about a week or so. What I recently figured out is I have been making the mistake of laying in bed and scrolling through my phone! I watched an Angie Bellmare video and she said to get up and get moving, literally. She gets up and gets her workout in and when her tasks are done thats when she scrolls through their phone; instagram, youtube, emails.
I tried this this morning. I did a simple 10 minute you session and a 5 minute meditation, wrote out my goals and then was able to browse my phone. It worked! I hit that goal today!
I am not writing this post because I am some kind of morning routine motivation expert. I am writing this to help motivate myself and maybe get you motivated as well, if you need it.
Do you have a morning routine? What does it consist of?
The morning routine I am creating for myself is to wake up before the kids, workout and have a quiet time to read my Bible, pray and meditate, set my goals, read my 10 pages and maybe enjoy my cup of coffee in peace.
Having this time to focus on me, even for 30 minutes, is a game changer especially with the holidays around the corner and the kids being out of school for 2 weeks.
I want to encourage you to find even just 10 minutes to be quiet and gather your thoughts daily. It obviously would be ideal first thing in the morning, but even before bed to clear your mind will help as well.
If you have any questions about my routine or were I am getting my motivation from please feel free to reach out. I am new to this and would love to share what I have found is working for me.
