Are You Ready For Christmas 2021?

Tonight as I sit and look at my Christmas Tree that I finally decorated yesterday we only have 15 days till Christmas. But, let’s be real, it’s 14 because it’s almost midnight!

Have you finished your shopping? Have you planned the family get togethers? Are you host? Do you have your menu planned? Which event or tradition are you most looking forward to this year?

I think all of our shopping is done, I just have a couple of items that haven’t arrived yet, and besides those items the wrapping is all finished! Yay, That’s a first for me!

We host Christmas Day Brunch and then go to my in laws for Lasagna Christmas night. We have a gift exchange with each side of the family on a day that is not Christmas. I have adopted the presence of love on Christmas Day not the presents. We still do our gifts and gifts from Santa on that day but everyone else’s happens on another day. We get to spread the love and spend more time together!

Menu for Brunch has a couple of staples; cinnamon rolls, yogurt bar, maple sausage breakfast sliders, painted cookies, and of course mimosas. I do have to add a couple of allergen friendly options to the menu because my mom cannot eat any of those! She is Dairy, Gluten, Soy, and Corn free.

If you have a family member with food allergies and need some ideas please feel to reach out I’d love to help.

I think the most exciting tradition we started 2 years ago is getting in the car or golf cart a couple nights a week and driving around with Christmas music blaring and looking at lights. The kids love the blow ups and all the colors. It is a simple thing but so much fun and we could drive around for hours!

A new tradition that we started last year is building a Ginger Bread house on Christmas Eve and eating take out after Church. It was a fun time just hanging out Corey and the Kids and I. Even though I swore I would never do it again, I really enjoyed the simplicity of it.

What is your favorite food, sweet or savory, during the season and what tradition with family or friends do you love the most?

Hi! My name is Ashley and I am a wife of almost 10 years and a mom of Irish twins Daisy (3) and Brady (2). I grew up in a small town and after college moved back to marry my Husband, Corey. I am not perfect at anything I do and will be the first to tell you I struggle with balancing life on the daily. Cooking and Baking are were I feel like I shine, but I enjoy learning and trying all the things.
