Asian Night

The last couple of months or so, I have been craving Chinese food. Thanks to the frozen food section I think I have an alternative to take out.

Don’t get me wrong I love getting Chinese food with the white rice and tub of sweet and sour sauce (my mouth is watering right now thinking about it) but, it can be very expensive and full of more sodium than one person needs in a year!

I have tried to “fry” my own sweet and sour chicken and it takes 5 days to prep, cook and then clean up (yes an exaggeration but, if you know you know). So I have tried to find a solution to both of these problems and still satisfy that craving.

I found frozen orange chicken at Costco, Sams club, and Walmart. Yes there is still a little to much sodium but I like to think it’s better than ordering take out. Did you know they also have frozen fried rice?? Yup! It’s a thing!

I feel the best bang for your buck based on the amount of chicken you get is Sams or Costco. InnovAsian at Walmart is good, it just has less meat for the price. Although they do sell other flavors like, sweet and sour.

The InnovAsian fried rice is tasty and easy to prepare and I mix in a bag of frozen stir fry veggies from Sams, best amount and variety of veggies in the bag.

This dinner takes about 20 minutes to whip together and if you sauce it after the fact the kids think they are enjoying chicken nuggets with rice and veggies!

We chose this meal tonight because it reheats from room temperature well, so the hubby can eat and be to bed at a decent time while we are out for evening activities and will eat when we get home.

Even better part, easy clean up!

Do you have a go to freezer or throw together meal that the family likes?

This post is not sponsored by any of the companies mentioned. Just wanted to share our easy go to meal that we all will eat with minimal fuss.
