Essential Oils

Yes I use them and heres why you should too.

This post is not sponsored and I am not a doctor nor a medical professional. These are things I have done and found work for myself and my family, please use at your own risk.

I feel like Essential Oils have gotten a bad wrap because of under educated purchases and MLM concepts. Some of them are also crazy expensive and we all question if the actually work. I watch a lot of cleaning videos on YouTube and a few of them use nothing but EOs for a non toxic lifestyle. I was intrigued and have been trying to transition some products over to non toxic ones if I feel like they work well. I have started very small and only transitioned a few things. I want to highlight 3 items/products/EOs that I use and the company I purchase them from.

I love Plant Therapy!!! They have, from what I understand, quality oils at a very reasonable price. There is always free shipping if you select the right shipping and it mostly arrives in an average of 4 days. They have a reward program where you earn points for every $ you spend. I have received almost $20 off over the last year or so, I just have to remember to log into my account when I make my purchase. They have a wide variety of oils and are creating more products to “keep up with” the other companies.

Last year when I had become very sick my mom made a veggie capsule with EOs in it. The recipe she used is titled Essential Oil Antibiotic. I think what helped me not get even more sick was taking this. Its crazy to think this actually works but even my skeptical husband notices a difference when he takes it.

Essential Oil Antibiotic
  • 2-3 Drops Oregano Oil
  • 2-3 Drops Rosemary Oil
  • 2-3 Drops Basil Oil
  • 1 Veggie capsule

Add each of the oils to a veggie capsule. Take 1 capsule 3-4 times a day. I try to spread the doses out 3-4 hours a part. Beware of the burps its been described to taste like a candle! LOL

The next oil I want to rave about it is a blend Plant Therapy puts together. It is kids safe and I swear by this blend. Its called Silky Soft. I was introduced to this oil blend when our new born son had the worst diaper rash and diaper cream kept making it worse! You have to dilute this blend with a carrier oil and the back of the bottle tells you the ratio. You will also need to buy a bottle to mix it in. Amazon has good ones just be sure to get the tinted (green or brown) ones. To use this oil I drop it on to the effected area, you can rub it in, but lets be real, no body wants that. So I just let it sit and do its thing, it still works. Here is the success story, My Son had a very bad diaper rash for over a week. I sent him to my moms house for the afternoon and she didn’t have any diaper cream so she tried the diluted Silky Soft on him and with in 2 diaper changes his rash was 80-90% gone!!!! I also use it on scrapes or bug bites and I personally use it on my rashes. We recently went to SeaWorld, ALL DAY, and my inner thighs were dying!!!! I took a shower and applied this oil and the next day the rash was gone! I am going to say this is a miracle worker! They have also come out with a balm witch is great, I personally have not tried it. Just beware of double dipping is the only thing I would caution about.

I have had an issue with warts since I was a kid. While I was pregnant with our son I went to Foot Doctor to have serval warts removed from my heal. One of the kids had developed one on their foot, I think, and not that I didn’t want to take them to the Doctor for it, but basically they would have to burn or freeze them off. Again, after talking to my mom, she had found that Plant Therapy had come out without a kids safe blend for wart removal. So, I got it to try it out, how could it hurt. With in one month the wart was gone and has not come back in 2 years! Like the Silky Soft you have to dilute it. I drop the oil onto a Q-tip and apply to the affected area.

Here is a bonus! Plant Therapy recently came out with deodorant. I was looking for a healthy one and was excited to try this. I have bought it 3 times so far! I love it. At first, it took a little bit to get used to the smell of grapefruit under my arms but as I became accustomed to it I have begun to love it! They have two scents to choose from.

I also recently purchased their oil facial cleanser and I like it so far. Maybe next month I will do a skin care product line up. I found a recipe for a face “cream” I want to try.

I hope you enjoyed reading this and maybe found 2 or 3 products that will change your life! I use a lot more oils on a daily basis, mainly in the diffuser, but some I do roll on myself or the kids. If you would like to know more about what I use please be sure to leave a comment and let me know.
